Writing Communities
Writing may begin alone, but it does not survive that way. Over the years, my work has been shaped in community — in rooms where language is taken seriously, curiosity is protected, and people show up for one another.

The communities listed here have offered craft, accountability, companionship, and care. They are places where I learned how to stay with the work, especially when it was difficult.
See You In Community
These writing communities span workshops, residencies, retreats, and long-running creative spaces. Some I return to again and again; others marked a particular season of growth or transition.

What they share is a commitment to rigorous craft, ethical storytelling, and the belief that writing is both an individual practice and a collective one.
Unfold is a 30-day, community-focused poetry writing workshop and challenge held in April to celebrate National Poetry Writing Month, facilitated by poet and writer Tristan Richards. The workshops provide daily prompts, structure, and a supportive, creative space to generate new poems, with options for live Zoom sessions and self-paced participation.
Undercurrent is a weekly generative writing workshop on Zoom with Desireé Dallagiacomo and up to 25 other writers. Come for the poems. Stay for the company.
A home for poets. We are a community of gutsy, bold writers who explore the edges of our craft in the company of our poetry people.
Sustenance is guided by three core values: craft, inspiration, and support. We’re here to take our writing seriously, stay curious and generative, and practice radical kindness.
